Leica M9 files lost?
Chris Peterson, Photographer, Photo Editor

->> I shot a bunch of photos with my Leica M9 over the weekend.

The files appear on the card, but they also say they're zero KB and won't open. Am I screwed? I'm 99 percent sure it's a bad Sandisk card, because I tried another card and it reads and writes files just fine.

Is there any chance in hell I can recover those photos from the bad card?

Bottomline? I threw the card out. I suspect it was one of the cards that went through the wash several times. Looks like a zero K file is indeed, zero K.

David — The M9 is a cool camera, but the buffer sucks. Leica built a beautiful little camera and then stuck a Commodore 64 processor in the SOB. The Leica glass, however, is so very nice.

->> Chris, I'm sure it's wonderful, I'd just never have the $$$ for one. I'm only six correct numbers in the Powerball away.
