OT: Outlook Express to Microsoft Outlook

->> Hi guys, i got an off topic question, maybe some of you have an answer for this.
After i moved to Windows7 i had to give up on my Outlook express which i used while i was on XP, and chose to use a webmail service. I do however want to comeback to a mail client and microsoft outlook seems to be just what i'm looking for. I have all the dbx files from the old client but i can't figure out a way of importing everything into the new one. I googled it but all the returns suggested i need to have outlook express installed, which cannot be done in W7.

Any ideas?

->> Maybe I am missing something here but you should be able to go go to file and import on outlook and import files directly. I am not familiar with the .dbx (outlook express ?) file but it still should not be a problems as there are options to import just about everything. If .dbx is outlook express there is an option to import outlook express files.
Hope this helps.

->> Radu, so it looks like all you have is your .dbx files. You will probably need to import them from outlook express directly which may mean you having to install your outlook express on another machine then import your .dbx files. You will then need to export as .csv files and save onto some sort of removable media. Then import the .csv file from the removable media into outlook.

->> I've used this handy little program before to convert Outlook Express .dbx files into the more widely support MBOX format.

This should allow you to import them into the new Outlook and is also helpful for anyone converting from Windows to Mac OS.

->> Kevin, i've tried several softwares that converted just part of the emails i had, i will try this one later today and let you know if it worked. Otherwise, it's Colin's solution.

Thanks!
