->> This is most definitely required reading. You'll have an understanding of what you can and can't do regarding photographing various scenarios... and what the remedies are for each situation.

For instance, we have a shopping center in Fresno called RiverPark, which had a cool fountain right outside an Edwards theater amongst various restaurants w/ lots of very creative neon lighting. It was a photographer's magnet. I was hustled off the premises on one particular summer evening, and have quietly fumed about it ever since. Come to find out "...taking pictures of buildings on private property visible from public places..." is clearly legal in all circumstances, doing so while ON private property is within the owners right to prohibit, even if no signs exist stating the prohibition, and even if it is open to the public. Hmmm... lesson learned. (They finally took out the fountain and replaced it with foliage; they apparently got tired of fighting the battle)
