You don't bid that much on a camera that has the kit lens. I would have asked for some deal on that. How many pix..errr wait a minute... Like most Leica collectors, the owner will fawn over it - but it's a investment and nothing more. Leica collectors are a breed unlike no others. If you are right and the camera sold for $550,000 10 years ago - well considering the rate of return on a good investment might be 5%-10% right now, that's not too bad. I remember Leica collectors from my days at Mileo Photo back in the late 60s and 70s and I wasn't kidding about them being a breed unlike any other. I couldn't get into it but I did understand the mentality a little bit.
