->> What was the bidder thinking, a 1923 rare Leica bought for $1.89 million. You don't bid that much on a camera that has the kit lens. I would have asked for some deal on that. It's at best a BGN+ condition, maybe EX-

Like most Leica collectors, the owner will fawn over it - but it's a investment and nothing more. Leica collectors are a breed unlike no others. Hold on to it for a while and someone will pay you more than you paid for it.

I remember Leica collectors from my days at Mileo Photo back in the late 60s and 70s and I wasn't kidding about them being a breed unlike any other. I couldn't get into it but I did understand the mentality a little bit. I used the word "fawn" intentionally - some times they did everything but drool.
