->> For those who haven't read it already, the Flip video camera has been axed by its new owner, Cisco Systems:

One alternative to fill its void is the new Olympus pocket video camera, complete with 1080p HD video and stereo microphones:

I like the idea of the Olympus but I'm not so sure I'd be happy with the placement of the lens... it seems that by placing the lens on the top edge of the device, the user would be forced to use the thing at waist level to be able to see the LCD, or else blindly point the camera at the subject like a remote control. |

| ->> I prefer the Kodak Zi10 I just picked up. 1080p 30fps, 720p 30fps or 60fps. The internal mic isn't the best but it has a miniphone input for a mic. It's not a replacement for a true video camera, but I think it has a good balance of features, particularly for $99. |

->> The Kodak is also called the PlayTouch.
There is also a water resistant version called the PlaySport but it doesn't have the mic input.
I have used the Kodak with a wireless mic set ups for some corporate video.
I used a $15 bracket to make a quick tour the office set-up.
I explained it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKY9ylaCzqw |
