->> Seems that if you get Sports Illustrated, Time, and Fotune magazines as a print subscription, that you will now be able to access the iPad versions for FREE!!!!
More info can be found here: http://bit.ly/j3vmSK
I know that I will once again renew my subscription - as buying the iPad version was too costly at $5 per issue!! |

| ->> Thanks for the heads up Andrew. This should be a boost for print subscriptions for any title that can also offer iPad access as well ... |

->> The iPad version of SI is fantastic! They offer many more photos and photo collections than the print version and it's easy to go through. I'm more than happy to save a few trees and go iPad only.

->> almost....
with espn..you HAVE to sign up for auto renewal...and it renews at whetever the current rate happens to be. Thats a deal breaker for me.
Thru Zinio...the mags are simply outrageously priced. They should be no more than the actual print version that has a true cost of goods sold...not more. I'm sure they will continue to fall, but mostly the prices are just silly. |

| ->> The whole subscription price conundrum is perplexing ... while theoretically, there should be lower overhead for the electronic version, there are extra hoops to jump through for layout, design and implementation ... plus the cost of hosting, distribution and other related fees is all n addition to the overhead they are experiencing for the printed version ... I think until some of these major publications actually give up the printed version entirely ... we will continue to see a higher cost for providing the electronic/digital version ... hopefully the market itself will force the issue to level out where we are accustomed to with the printed versions ... |
