You have had so many idiotic posts on this site that you are coming dangerously close to overtaking the undisputed HW champ in this category, who has mysteriously been MIA for the last month or so most likely due to commitments with some BS travel blog...... but I digress.
Comparing/associating "taking down" Osama Bin Laden to Bubba Watson winning the Zurich Tournament is a slap in the face to every family that lost a loved one during 9-11-2001.
I am not alone to think that english tea you are drinking is laced with LSD with some of the crap you come up with. |

If you're gonna quote Rush Limbaugh, you should not leave out that he praised the waterboarding of KSM, which of course yielded the first significant clue in 2004 that led directly to finding bin Laden. So, yeah, let's all thank enhanced interrogation for the killing of this animal.
That's weak cheese, brother. Come with your bags packed next time. |

According to the AP story, KSM revealed the information months after the waterboarding while under standard interrogation.
Can we get back to talking about photography now or a subject that has something remotely to do with this site? |

Thank you Mark!! Can you PLEASE start a thread asking this same question. Who moderates this site anyway? |

->> Mark,
Was waterboarding responsible for the breakthrough lead ?
Many key sources(intelligence officials, lawmakers, etc.) are claiming just that.
What you read may have been one person's take and that's fair enough, but I'm afraid that this does not settle the issue.
In any event, I'd be happy to talk photography, but somebody has to smack down misguided threads like this. |

Freudian slip?
The least stressful method of avoiding a "misguided" discussion on a topic you would rather not participate in, or one that you feel has little merit, is to ignore the discussion completely ... instead of trying to police the matter or stifle the discussion yourself ...
There are a great many threads on this and other sites that I do not participate in ... for various reasons ... if it is of little or no interest to me ... or goes too far against the grain ... the thread will either suffer from eventual obscurity or be removed by the moderators ... no need to run in and save the day on your own ... there is room for all points of view ...
Personally, opinions on current events, by those of us who cover current events as a profession, should be considered a viable point of discussion ... even though some may feel it is inappropriate to discuss that matter here ... it is no less reasonable than the arguing over the validity of pricing for the latest 400 f/2.8, or the best method fora newbie to secure a sideline pass ... matters which EVERYONE does seem to have an opinion on ... |

Butch,
Those examples at least have something to do with photography. This is a political discussion. It's easy to sit there and say "just ignore it", but the reality is that many legends in the field have left SportShooter for exactly this reason. So have it your way. Enjoy talking about Rush Limbaugh on a photography message board. Makes perfect sense to me. |

->> Finally Michael, a decent question on this topic!
I did some work with the Teams while I was still on active duty, and they were using Canon at the time because they had quieter shutters. That was about 5 years ago though, so things might have changed.
Also, It is not SEAL Team 6 and I have never heard a Team Guy refer to it as Team 6. Officially it is Naval Special Warfare Development Group, and referred to as DevGru.
Oh, the the rest of us Navy folks use Nikon. |
