Somewhat OT, and inspiration thing

->> I live in a village in Ohio. Only 2,500 people in a pretty large geographic area. Nice thing is we are very close to much larger communities. (VERY close, like 5 minutes.) Sort of the best of both worlds as to small town / big city. There are some pretty picturesque areas nearby. Only problem is that the weather here can be dismal. Last year there was a high school baseball team in the area that only played 12 games due to rainouts. You get the picture. I recently got a book from National Geographic titled "Visions of Paradise." In it I found this photo.

For sure this was as dismal a day as any we get here. It's simply a beautiful photograph. It's all how you look at the glass, half-empty or half-full.

->> I realize that the first post was obtuse. Hey, I'm no writer (obviously!) My point is that often I see beautiful photos taken in the "magic hour" at sunrise or sunset. The quality of light, the angle, the color temperature, etc. can dramatically affect a photo. When you live in an area where the sun makes infrequent visits it can be frustrating. Then you see a beautiful photo made on an obviously dismal day, and you get some inspiration to look at the world harder and try and find a photo with the light you have, rather than bemoaning what you don't have.
