Canon 7D Error 30 message

->> Hi all,
I was wondering if any other 7D users experience error 30 messages. I've been out shooting twice when I have had to switch to another camera because of it. You press the shutter, it clicks and shows you a black image and tells you to replace your batteries and turn the camera off. Both times I did just that and continued to shoot only to have it happen a couple of frames later (repeated on/off, batteries out) until I gave up and went with my backup :( It's only happened twice, but I don't want to head out on a shoot and have it happen when I am really depending on that camera. I also don't want to send it in if it is something I am doing wrong (quite possible).
Thanks so much for your help! |

->> An error 30 is a shutter malfunction. I'd send the camera in and have the shutter replaced sooner rather than later.
I had this happen with my camera about a month ago and sent it in to have it repaired. If you still have the files that you shot on a CF card, send it in with the camera. Canon will want the images to help them trouble shoot.
I'd send the camera to Canon as soon as you can, they've sent out e-mails to CPS members warning of possible parts shortages due to the earthquakes and tsunami in Japan. |
