Ken Blaze, Photographer Cleveland | OH | USA | Posted: 12:10 AM on 04.26.11 ->> So I was out in the rain and my Nikon 24-70 got completely drenched. The rubber band that is used to control the zoom came off completely with a sticky goo on the inside/back. So, I can't fix this myself.... Or can I? Anyone have this happen to them? Any suggestions? If any water got into the guts of the lens it could corrode some of the electronics or God-forbid, damage the AF motor. And if water got into the elements ...well, that's a huge problem.
