| ->> So sad to have just heard this on the news. My heart goes out to their friends and families. I only knew of Tim through his work on "Restrepo" but that was an amazing and enlightening documentary. All of the journalists (print, photo and video folks) who are covering all of these conflicts in quagmire are heroes in their own right. If not for brave souls like these we'd never know the truth about any of these wars. My heartfelt thanks to them and all those in the media for their selfless dedication to their profession! |

| ->> I was at OU when Chris was a grad student. Even then he was highly admired and just a great guy to be around. It's been nerve wracking trying to get the straight story about his condition today but more and more outlets are starting to confirm that he succumbed to the injuries. |

| ->> I received a message from a friend in afghanistan who was on his sat phone with a fellow shooter at the hospital in Libya....the news was not good. The Post's story seems pretty credible since they have a reporter at the hospital....it said Hondros took shrapnel to the forehead which then exited through the rear of his head. We can still hope though... |

Join us in spirit by raising a glass at 7 p.m. tonight the journalists who have lost their lives while telling the stories of others.
I met Chris only one or two times, but this news is heartbreaking, like losing a good friend. Rest in peace, Tim and Chris. |
