->> Bubble Gum Alley!
As the tourist said in the video "Yuk!"
Always worth the trip to SLO ... for lunch and dinner at McClintock's! |

| ->> Improvised on the "steady cam" --- used a heavy Bogen monopod on the Nikon D3s. |

->> There is a great cafe by the alley called Linnea's that is sweet.
We also spent lots of time eating cheese fries at Firestone. |

| ->> Just left a donation at the gum wall last month with the family during Spring Break. Hadn't been to San Luis Obispo in 30 years...I looked for the gum I left as a kid but couldn't remember where I put it! Great town! |

| ->> Interesting alley but gross. I remember during a visit, a toddler was trying to take a bite of one of the pieces of gum but the mom stopped her kid just in time. |

->> San Luis Obispo is also the home of the Ernie Ball/MusicMan guitar factory. IMO the finest eletcric guitars made in the USA. Yes, that includes Gibson, Fender and Paul Read Smith.
Try one, you'll like it! |

->> Hey, my hometown! I have provided many pieces of bazooka, big league chew and other fine quality pieces of bubble gum to that wall! Great video, I enjoyed the interviews. Gotta love the fun, farmers market atmosphere. Thanks for sharing!
Bert, If you're ever in town again I would love to grab a pint and a steak with you at McLintocks! Better yet, a deli sandwich from High Street Deli or Gus's will hit the spot!
More fun facts about SLO: The world's first motel- The Motel Inn- is located (and still standing) in SLO and most importantly Jamba Juice opened their first store their! |

->> @Nick
Gus's was the best in college! I love that place.
I also miss that bagel place that was downtown. |

->> I'd love to go back there sometime. I was only there for a couple of days. Of course they wanted me to spotlight the Farmers Market in the video, problem was I was there in mid-March and by time it started it was already dark! So I had to scramble to come up with an alternative for a video...and Bubble Gum Alley was the easiest and most colorful.
I went to the old standby McClintock's ...I'd been there many times in the past.
Now I have some other places to hit when I visit next! |
