->> Agreed as well. Kurt's is pretty good for stuff you can't or don't want to take directly to Nikon... is the lens too old to see if Nikon in El Segundo has parts for it? Something like that knob might also have been incorporated into newer lenses, so it's possible that part is still available.

I have used a place in The Valley, but that's a hike from the O.C. for you. Authorized Camera Service is in Woodland Hills. I've taken things there over the years. But if I need something repaired or serviced fast, I go to Nikon in El Segundo.
