->> It's pretty well-done if it is an April Fool's joke, but people do put a lot of time into them.

That said, it could also be the return of Silicon Film:

->> Silicon Film is what I was thinking of before I even clicked on Kent's link. That looks totally legit. I don't think Silicon Film ever really got off the ground, at least I never saw anywhere one could buy it. Plenty of magazine articles back in the day.

Not sure what the allure would be now. Actually it seems a lot like Silicon Image, you click on sample images or tech specs and nothing is available.

As Yogi said, "Its like deja vu all over again."

And the "Coming Soon" links lead me to believe that it's not real.

Funny -- my response to that statement uses all of George Carlin's "Seven Dirty Words."

->> I remember having been pretty excited about the "silicon film" concept years ago, and as I recall it irritated me because it was not going to be available for the Minolta Maxxum system. This was actually the first time I had ever regretted using the Minolta system, and further developments in Nikon and Canon DSLR bodies eventually pushed me to abandon Minolta in favor of Canon.
