->> We are updating the software that we use to capture images from cameras (Nikon) that are tethered to a computer (running Windows). We thought about using Capture NX 2, but can't find any "real world" info about other programs. Does anybody have any recomendations on programs to use or avoid? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

->> I find that Lightroom 3 does a very good job of capturing direct from the camera. I use Canon and no longer have to load the Canon utility, only the basic device driver.

->> I've been very pleased with shooting tethered in LR3 also ... be advised that not all Nikon cameras are currently supported for tethered shooting as there can be some limitations of the Nikon SDK for some models ... like the D200 ... works fine on Mac OS X with lightroom ... but is a no-go on Windows .. the complete current listing for supported cameras is here ...

->> Thanks for the suggestions guys, and Butch, thank you for that list. Our plan is to use our D200's for this, so I guess LR3 is a no-go, at least for now.
Does anyone else have another option (or a review of NX2)? |

->> You might check out Capture One. I use the Pro V6.1 with my Canon 1-Ds Mk III and Mk IV's whenever I shoot tethered and it works great.

->> +1 for Capture One. Its RAW processing is, in my opinion, way better than LR or Aperture.
