->> I am considering getting a Samsung Galaxy Tablet instead of an iPad, I was wondering if anyone here has used one and how it may compare to the iPad or iPad 2.
I look forward to seeing if any other members have anything good or bad to say about these tablets. |

->> I've looked at the Samsung and it seems nice. However, I'm personally holding off for a bit because of other new models coming out. The Galaxy is linked to Sprint, who just announced a new handheld called the HTC Evo tablet that is due out in the next couple months and will run on the new Honeycomb O/S. It trumps the Galaxy in some features.
Motorola has its Xoom which is linked to Verizon; but another version of it that's unlinked -- and cheaper -- is either just out or will soon be.
Asus just launched a new tablet running Honeycomb earlier this week in Asia which shows promise and has 3x the battery live of its Win7 tablet cousin. The new one has a docking station that is a keyboard. You can use it alone as a tablet with a touch screen keyboard or set it in the station where it acts like a monitor. It will hit the U.S. market next month.
And HP will have its tablet debuting in June/July that will supposidely rock the status quo.
As these new tablets hit the market, prices may drop on those that are available today. |

| ->> Take it from me, when the iPhone first hit the market. I didn't want to switch from Verizon, so I settled on the Blackberry Storm which at the time was being billed as their answer to the iPhone. That was the WORST phone I ever owned. Now that I have an iPhone and an iPad that I brought last year a week after they came out. NOTHING TOUCH's BOTH!!! But that's just my opinion. |

| ->> I have played with the Galaxy Tablet a couple of times and I really didn't like it compared to my iPad. The XOOM however looks really nice. |

| ->> I think I will just get an ipad 2 soon, The deal I was looking at required a two-year contract so I passed on the Samsung Galaxy tablet. Thanks for the input from everyone! |

->> I'll agree that my Storm was a dog with fleas. I have updated the OS several versions up from what is the 'official' Verizon release and that really made a difference. I use it to tether my laptop and run several apps. I'm running OS version 5.0.0.797 which is probably a few versions old by now in the unofficial release count. I too am looking at tablets and a new phone. I'm holding out to see what the Blackberry Playbook brings to the table as I like the idea that it will sync to my Storm.
Either way I plan to wait until the summer for the release of the new iPhone for the Verizon platform. LTE/4G is already active in my area and I can't see burning my 2 year new phone credit before these products come to market and we can see what is really shipping. One thing that is leaning me towards the Playbook is that it is rumored to run both BB and Android apps. |
