OT: online sharing calendars

->> With cloud computing on developer's minds, the explosion of internet ready-access devices such as iphones and other smartphones, ipads or other tablets, laptops and the fact that there are only 24 hours in a day I am looking for an organizational solution to maintain my personal, work, photography and other specific subject/task calendars in sync.
Preferably, I would like a solution that would allow me to sync automatically my android phone, wife's iphone, our ipads and other software such as Outlook installed on laptops/desktops to sync once connected to the internet with the respective calendars in order to have ONE location for all the information as opposed to having to physically sync each device.
Over the years, I learned how to import entire game schedules into my Outlook calendars from the schools that i cover by converting online game schedules in Excel, which I then can import into Outlook. Some are problematic but it beats having to type in all the schedules in Outlook as an appointment. So the key would be that the "master" calendar would reside on outlook.
I also work with a couple of other photographers for a small weekly newspaper and I would like to create a shared calendar online that is simple and effective to manage by all so we avoid double coverage or conflicting events, etcetera.
According to the Outlook 2010 information regarding online sharing of calendars, webdav capable servers provide that service but I don't know of any.
Godaddy - my service provider - has something similar but it requires that I use their online option, which is viable, of course so does Google through the gmail email account.
I like to know if others have experimented with this concept and would like some feedback good or bad and of course if you have suggestions or recommendations feel free to share. |

->> Dirk,
We use Google mail and calendars. You can set it up to use Outlook too. We don't use Outlook, though. All mail syncs across desktops, laptops and phones. I'm also using Evernote - www.evernote.com - I have no idea how I got along without it. I can save notes, reminders, web pages and a whole bunch of other stuff across all platforms.
I hope this helps.

->> Google Cal and/or MobileMe from Apple.
We actually use both with our combination of (2) iPhones, (2) MacBook Pros, (1) iMac, and (1) iPad.
I share some or all of 7 different calendars related to 2 different businesses, a studio (shared by multiple people) and personal calendars for myself and my wife and a "family" calendar. We could probably do away with the personal calendars but it's been working for 2+ years now so we're used to it. |

->> I also found this nifty lil app/program yesterday:
QuickCal Mobile:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/quickcal-mobile/id377663723?mt=8
It allows you to create calendar events using natural language:
"Dinner at 6", "Lunch tomorrow at noon", "Jogging next Tuesday @8a for 90 min", "Stereo install @Mick's Tue @5pm", "Yoga class on 9/21 at 9am until 11:30am", "Mow the grass Saturday 3pm" |
