->> I am getting a Err message on my D3 , I have seen other threads on this but no answers. Is there a hard reset?? I tried the 2 green dot reset and it did not even reset. I can not take any photos and when I do they are black. I tried different battery, cards an lenses. Does anyone have any other suggestions.
Thanks

->> Shane,
What's happening when you get this message? I just sent my D3 in for an error message that would pop up while shooting mainly with my 70-200 and 300.
It was a problem with the bayonet mount between the camera and the lens.

->> MJ,
It is happening attached to a 70-200 and 200 f2, it also happens with no lens attached. All it days on top it ERR. I can take a picture but it is black. The ERR does not go away.

->> Try holding your mirror up, and look inside as you trip the shutter. Sounds more and more like a dead shutter...

->> Error message on a Nikon? Are you sure it isn't a Canon?

->> Shane that happened to me when my shutter went on the D700. Gave me the ERR and black frame. Shut it off, it reset, took another shot, same thing. Bad shutter.

->> I've gotten the Err message maybe a half dozen times on my D300s and 70-200. I tried taking out the batteries, making sure the lens is fully attached, and cleaning the lens contacts. It eventually worked itself out.
Lesson: second body is necessary. |

->> Most likely it is a dead shutter. You can also lock and open the shutter by putting the camera into cleaning mode. If the shutter is dead it won't open for sensor cleaning.

->> I thinks it the shutter , I tried cleaning mode with a fresh battery and it will not even give me the option. Thank heaven for that the backup.
