| ->> I have a 13" MacBook (white) that I like to use in the field. Can anyone suggest a sun hood that I can use with it? |

->> +1 on what Jim posted. The ThinkTank product is amazing, and actually not too expensive. It's got a bunch of cool extras, like a strap/clip to hang line-ups inside the "tent", places for pens and such, and an easy way to feed your power cables and card readers through the fabric without compromising the light tightness.
At one of our local ballyards, where the photo pits are totally exposed to the sun, it's one of the best solutions. It's a little taller than I'd like, which can get the attention of fans sitting around you so I try to only open it between innings. Even then a fan or two occasionally complains about it "blocking their view", though the only thing being blocked is a view of the rolled up tarp that's stored against the wall, but maybe they like being able to see the tarp? |

| ->> One more vote for the Think Tank. I've seen people make fun of it at first. Later they ask where they can buy one. It is a well-designed product at a reasonable price. |

->> I have an older version of the Hoodman Eclipse bought several years before the Think Tank product came out.
Here's the current model: http://www.hoodmanusa.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HOODMAC
It's more compact than the Think Tank with the trade off that the window you look through can be a bit limiting at times. It is also a bit cheaper. I really like the features of Think Tank shade but wonder how easy it would be to use when working inside a car. |

->> I had a Hoodman Eclipse for my 12" Aluminum PowerBook, and it worked pretty well, but in bright sunshine I found it wasn't as effective as the TT product...certainly was smaller, though, both when folded and when "deployed".
And let me clarify some things about the ThinkTank Pixel Sunscreen (in response to a couple emails I've received) - it has velcro on the top lip and on the lower front, so it's very easy and quick to make it only as tall as your opened laptop, which is its size when "closed"...takes less than a second...and less than a second to pop it open again. Be sure that the Velcro is secure, though; if it's not, the whole thing suddenly POPS open and can almost bounce the whole assembly off the desk or table :)
Folding it up at the end of the event takes a little longer, but even that only requires maybe 30 seconds, and it folds to a 15" diameter x 3" thick disc with a loop on the top that easily hangs off the back of my ThinkTank Airport Security roller bag.
It's also solid enough when opened to move it, and the enclosed laptop, as an integral unit, as might be required when editing, captioning or transmitting during the game action and when the opened Sunscreen might interfere with fans' sight lines. It's easy to use even sitting on the deck or ground.
Here's a video showing it in use:

| ->> Thanks everyone. I decided on the GriffGear hood. Can't go past Australian made! And spoke with Rob and he was very helpful. He clearly takes a lot of pride in his workmanship. I will also be ordering The Rock Wallaby shoulder bag from him in a few weeks when they are available |
