The rest of the photo staff and I always enjoyed looking through his archives for motivation. His business card and NPPA ID badge are still stuck to the old bulletin board back in the lab where we presume he pinned them. I've never met the man, but he left a lasting impression through his photos back in Topeka. His eye and talent pushed me to strive for his visual elegance. His "I Dream A World" book buckled my knees when it came out and still does today. A finer person does not exist. His abilities as a journalist were surpassed only by his even greater talents as a human being. Anyone involved in the photographic community owes his creative talents tremendous respect. The world of photography and journalism has suffered a great loss but more importantly Brian's family and friends have been left with a huge hole in their hearts.
