Novatron kit with generator?

->> Help! I have a Novatron 600 VR lighting kit. It still works great but they do not sell a battery pack to power it--only AC power pack which I have. Does anyone know if you can hook this up to a generator for outside use? I have tried talking to the manufactuer but I haven't had much luck.

->> +1 on what Debra said, I had to use one to power an arena strobe (AB-1600 I think) last night and it saved my you know what :)

Patrick Murphy-Racey did some inverter testing a month or so back, you may want to look up that thread.

There could possibly be a sine wave issue depending on how the light is constructed and type of generator you use, if you are seriously looking into generators I can not say enough good things about the little Honda EU Series.

->> Hi Debra,
What power w/s Dynalite kit do you have? With it, how many *pops* can you get out of the vmini (at say, half or full power)?

Thanks in advance!

->> my husband and I were using the the 1000 pack with 3-2040 heads, plus I had my mac plugged into the other outlet on the mini. We brought the full size Vagabond too since we had the car (he is "old school" and thought the mini wouldn't last-it did). We shot 100 or so attorney portraits, then a group shot and a retirement party and it never died. It did get slow near the end-I think to be fully recycled, it was close to 6 seconds if he counted correctly.
2 summers ago we shot a CD cover with the older Vagabond and it lasted all day with the same set up.
Susan-if you are coming up this Sunday and want to take home the full size version to try out you are more than welcome.
