| ->> I read Patrick's column and was glad to see it. I just wanted to add there is a lot we can do to prevent stuff from happening. I have fought weight my whole life. I am now 53 and maybe 10 pounds heavier then I want to be wihich is about 20 pounds lighter then I have averaged being overweight for most of my life since I have been 35 . A little over a year ago I started swimming. I do 1/2 a mile about 5 times a week, This past football season I ran the sidelines easier then I ever have before. I would get past the teams players not out of breath and faster then some other photographers. My hip which had stated hurting about 5 years ago stopped hurting. My energy better. I am not a work out maven just the swimming eating a lot better at home, salads for dinner red meat only on special occasions. I know I might slide a little bit but I am feeling better and doing my job better. It is also nice to not having worn my fat jeans for over a year now. |
