Glidetrack Shooter...ever tried one?

->> Sorry if this has been discussed before.

Came across this as a shoulder support solution for 5D video shooting.

Wondering if anyone has tried it and their thoughts. Also, if anyone has other shoulder support solutions that would make tripod-less shooting with the 5D easier, please share.

Thanks.

As for what does work for me, I have a Cavision shoulder mount. It too isn't the best and most comfortable solution, but it mostly gets the job done. The RedRock shoulder mounts are very comfortable, but are a bit more pricey. I have used one and I can say from experience that it is stable, comfortable and especially when used with a counter weight, a very nice rig.

->> Thanks for the info Jason. Yeah comfort was my main concern on this one. It says it has padding, but it still looks uncomfortable. As with everything these days just trying to find an affordable solution for us.

->> It looks pretty nice, however if you have in mind shooting while moving, none of these shoulder rigs work good.
If you are standing still, it's probably ok.

For shooting on the move you really need some type of steadycam like Merlin or Flycam.

->> We have a couple different shoulder mounts, sliders, etc, and I think that the one piece of gear that we use the most is the Manfrotto 561BHDV ( http://bit.ly/fhgggX ). It is the one piece of gear, outside of the Sachtler tripod, that we use on EVERY shoot. It is a great piece of gear, and is under $300. If you are looking for a great slider, check out the Cinevate Pegasus system ( http://bit.ly/65rJ2L ). After buying several other sliders, we finally decided on this system. It is amazing and will work on the carbon fiber rails, or any smooth surface. Check these two products out for sure.
