Spring Training, Who's in Florida?

->> Hey, I was wondering if any of my SportsShooter photogs are covering spring training in Florida and if so what area of Florida.
Right now I am in Port Charlotte and covering teams in Fort Myers, Sarasota and Port Charlotte if you are in the area, I'd love to meet some fellow shooters, grab lunch or dinner in the area.

->> Chuck, Mickey was shooting Canon, but the Mark III autofocus problems made him GOOFY. I know he dumped all of it, but was complaining that what he got was MINNIE-scul compared to the investment. Not sure what he's using now... :)

Credentials for all rights, no pay - just allowed in the game. Not for them obviously, but for one of their affiliates - MiLB photographers don't get rights I guess in their eyes. |

Derick - my hotel is about 5 minutes away from Bright House, did photo day last year but not doing it this time around unfortunately, unless someone needs a last minute assistant. As of right now might go do a 4pm game in Bradenton (JC) or just take the day off to catch up with the tournament this weekend. |

->> I've just spent the last two days getting a nice burn on at the Rays Saturday and Yankees today. If you're heading down here, check the weather. Contrary to last year it's been absolutely spectacular weather. More than a few people have been commenting on how they're lacking the right clothes.
I'm an AP stringer and will be filling in at a variety of games/camps, so if you see a big, bald goateed guy ( http://www.sportsshooter.com/funpix_view.html?id=9011 ) feel free to ask about anything you need at the stadiums, cities or restaurants. (For those heading to Tampa, a new Brazilian steakhouse is opening near Steinbrenner - http://www.texasdebrazil.com/ Very exciting if you like meat...). |

I did drive more than 7500 miles last March, hopefully under 5K this spring.(Already at 2.5K)
And covering the Magic home games at new Amway Arena at the night. |
