->> Downloaded the most recent release canidate they are offering and I am pretty impressed.
I am almost shocked how far they have come as a browser. I added a ad-block app, lastpass, xmarks and this thing is fast.
Loads pages as fast or faster than chrome, FF, opera for me.
Again zero complaints, though I am still going to reserve my final judgment till it goes gold.
Anyone else give it a shot? |

I've heard about a few little glitches but mostly with what you could call "legacy" applications coded for older versions. |

->> Thanks Mike for posting the link.
Most people already have IE on their machines, might as well throw it on. I like it still. Not sure I will keep it as my main one once I am done testing, but honestly this might be their best effort in a very long, long time. |

->> It's great, they just added support for the CSS opacity attribute! Nevermind that everyone else had it over five years ago...
Now we're only 7-8 years from being able to use just valid HTML and CSS to code web pages, not some wacky javascript hack to make up for IE being crap.

->> Isreal,
hmm it seems IE9 can handle the code just fine now? Yes that was a statement and a question in one.
I can see that you detest IE, have you tried IE9 or just relying on previous years opinions on it? |

->> I have been testing IE9 since the first preview release, same as for IE8 and IE7 when they were first opened up to the public.
I'm saying that they are finally up to the standards that everyone else met five years ago. Which is good that they're moving forwards. But v7 and v8 will still be around for almost another decade, so it doesn't matter. We will finally be able to use all the features HTML5 and CSS3 when IE10 is the least common denominator on the market. That's about a decade if they don't make a significant break from their current release frequencies.
As a developer, you have to code for the lowest common denominator, which is always Internet Explorer. |
