->> I am really-really new to PhotoShelter and although I have a tremendous amount of work to do on my site, love EVERYTHING about PhotoShelter. I must have watched almost every video on their site too. Can some of you who have PhotoShelter sites post a link of your site. PLEASE!! Not that I want to steal any ideas. Just want to get an idea on how things are done. Thanks!!

->> It's nice if you know basic HTML and CSS, you can override some of the stuff and make it look not so "template-y".
http://photographnic.com/
I've found a big one that help is having a logo.
Also learning how to the use the meta-tagging on each page and correct keywords. |

->> Mark- Welcome aboard! Allen Murabayashi and Grover Sanschagrin have put together a great team to offer a great product. PhotoShelter is a great business partner to have if you are in the creative business. I took Grover's advice and got involved with Graphic Paper Press and integrated it with my PhotoShelter account. My site has had more visits and page views, in only 4 months... more than it did for a whole year with just my stand alone PhotoShelter account.

->> Ethan- thanks for mentioning my sites.
I currently have two different sites. My original site that showcases my portfolio is powered by liveBooks and has direct integration with PhotoShelter:
http://www.manginphotography.com (or http://www.bradmangin.com)
My newer site that currently contains my archive and blog is powered by PhotoShelter and Graph Paper Press:
http://www.manginphotography.net
We made my archive have the same look and feel as my newer site using a Graph Paper Press theme.
Without my crazy SEO and the work PhotoShelter has done allowing me to have my vast archive of images going back 25 years on my site i might be out of business by now.
But wait, there is more to come in the near future...
Look for it! |

->> I’ve signed up for the basic account set on Glow (classic) Theme: http://devinboldt.photoshelter.com/
I have not been using it that long, but I must say that I really do enjoy the features that they offer. I’ve currently been working with the Custom CSS feature that is now offered to all PhotoShelter accounts as far as I know; up to 2000 characters isn’t a lot, but it’s enough to closely resemble others sites you may have that you want to collectively coincide with each other. If you don't know CSS, it is worth learning. Start with the little things and go from there. It helps a lot.
I still have a little work to do, but I need to start adding more photos to really take advantage of all the features!
Good luck,
Devin |

->> @ Sequan, I was checking into using LiveBooks as a gallery site, but I think I can get the same effect by using PhotoShelter and Graphic Paper Press. Their site page is: http://livebooks.com/ Some wedding photogs I know were using LiveBooks for their main site and Graphic Paper Press for their Blogs. I like the look of some of their templates. I designed my old site and did most of it in flash, but as soon as I brought my iPad the only thing it would display was my spash page. Plus it was hard to update and it didn't have a database or archive.
I participated in Brad Mangin's Webinar last year and was very-very impressed with PhotoShelter, but didn't make the switch until last week. I have a lot to learn about the GREAT possiblities of using their services. I took several classes on webdesign in the past, but it just takes too long to code and get things right. Which I don't have the time to do. This system is so much easier and more flexible. |

All that I know for my limited experience with it, is that my freelance clients really like the private galleries and being able to select and download what they want. I still have a lot to learn about using it and using it as a point of sale. I'm just using a template right now so here is what I have so far.
