Superbowl halftime performance

| ->> That had to be one of the worse Superbowl halftime performances I have ever seen. The only thing I liked about it was Slash |

I actually watched the first part ot the halftime show with the sound off. It was pretty boring and when I turned the sound on..... my thoughts.... well, that was crappy. |

| ->> Any time I watch the Superbowl halftime show I always think about the one after 9/11 and U2 doing "The Streets Have No Name" with a lighted scrolling wall of all the people who died on that day. Very difficult to match that. |

| ->> The visual part was pretty good, but the audio part, not so much. It made me think about; that last year's ubiquitous high school basketball warm up song was "Let's Get it Started," replaced by this years "I Got a Feeling." But both songs sound better on the average high school gymnasium PA system than they did during the Super Bowl half time show. |

| ->> this is what I was talking about the other day to a photog friend-anything creative is highly subjective. Some may say it stunk while others thought it was great. Personally, I thought the half time show and Christina Aquilera were awful (an dI am not counting the fact that she got the verses wrong-she just sounded terrible) |

->> I felt sorry for the people whose suit didn't light up. But at least it will be easy for them to tell their friends where they were on the field.
By the way, they should donate the light up suits to NASCAR - they could change colors with each of the flags. Safety first! |

->> Visually Stunning!!!!
Audio- disaster......both the singers and the audio techs messed themselves on this 20 minute spectacle.....
Feel sorry for the fans that bought tickets and then got screwed by the NFL by having to watch the game on TV , how pissed would you be? |

->> The game was great...all the "pageantry" was horrible.
I was lucky enough not to be able to hear the Star Spangle Banner but a fly over of the stadium with the dome closed? What the F! was that.
That made about as much sense as taking a deaf person to the half-time show to watch the Black Eyed Peas..... oh wait after that performance I was wishing I was deaf and blind.
Its time they just get back to playing football. |

->> Silly rabbit...Trix are for.. opps.... you think the halftime show is to entertain you?
Silly you.
The halftime entertainment is to keep you from changing the channel. They're afraid in years where the game isn't close that you'll switch it and not switch back. It's all about eyeballs and keeping you there. Why? Of course, for the advertisers for the networks. The more profitable the networks are when they get to broadcast the Super Bowl, the more the NFL can raise the ante when it comes to negotiating a new contract.
You thought it was there to entertain you? HA!
On the other hand, some commercials sucked, but some of them were great. I loved the VW ad. |

| ->> I didn't watch one single snap of this game. It all has just got so ridiculous. When talking about halftime shows, my favorite was the 2002 Bowl, I believe when U2 performed. Don't know if it was lip synced or not, but it was still a great show. |

->> Stew:
Sounded fine to me (shooting from an elevated position), but I'm no real audiophile. Agreed that visually it was very impressive; aspects of it reminded me of opening ceremonies from the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
And yes, pretty sure Usher lip-synced vast portions of his performance.

->> Aerosmth a few years back was interesting show. I shot the rehearsals and the halftime show.
Aerosmith actually played, if you were by the stage you could hear them. But what was piped over the stadium speakers and probably the TV feed was an audio track. |

| ->> The performance that stuck out to me was Springsteen a couple of years ago, but I have never seen him put on a bad show...this year was just blah, though my opinion is probably biased as I really don't like pre-packaged pop music. The audio feed was horrid, really surprising for the biggest television event of the year. I would have preferred Hooray For Everything! |

->> I watched on TV, I like the Black Eye Peas, but the singing last night was horrific, again I like some of their songs, but last night the audio was awful, don't know if it was something with the sound systems in the stadium or what, but most of it sounded like a bad weekend karaoke group, I was waiting for Randy Jackson to come out and say "Dawg, come on really? That was like scratching figer nails on a chalkboard"
I almost changed the channel but I was drawn into the train wreck. Fergie sounded the worst, maybe she had a bad night, not sure, but it ranks among the worst performances I've heard, now presentation was great, if I had the tv on mute I would have said it was among the best, but sound was terrible. That's my take. |

The Superbowl is a TV show, first and foremost. The spectators in the seats at the venue might as well be set pieces. I saw the jet fly-over on TV quite well! :-) |

->> Even a nip-slip wouldn't have helped that show.
I didn't really pay attention to the singing after the first seven or eight times they flocked up Auto Tune. I then focused on conversation with my friends when the burned out half of the "V" on the stage caught my attention and just GRATED MY NERVES like you have no idea...
I mean I understand how logistically challenging getting that kind of stage on and off the field during halftime is on top of moving parts around, but it's not like they just got the script for this on Saturday. $50 says someone on the crew got fired over that. |

| ->> I thought the glowing dancers on the field were intersting, but what nobody has mentioned here is the lack of showmanship from the Black Eyed Peas. They basically just stood there, like lumps, which is pretty noticeable when watching from home and the camera returns to them doing nothing. This is a good argument for lipsyncing, if you sound like crap live, then I'd rather see you put on a show while lipsyncing over standing still and sounding like crap. |

| ->> I thought the worst music of the whole event was the obnoxious fanfare, blasted over and over and OVER, when they brought out Roger Staubach (and the TEXAS STADIUM announcer couldn't remember in which Super Bowl he was the MVP!) to present the trophy. After about 15 repeats, I expected to see people attempting to strangle themselves with the TV camera cables. |

->> Last night's show? One word--Ugh!
People who can actually sing would be nice...and, I'd like to hear Slash playing the geetar...and, as long as I'm dreaming, I'd like a pony!
There hasn't been truly great Superbowl halftime show since Ella Fitzgerald, Carol Channing (yeah, that Carol Channing!) and Al Hirt did a tribute to Louis Armstrong.
