Small P&S that shoots 1080 video

->> I have several small point & shoot cameras for different occasions or needs. I got a GoPro HD for Christmas and I'm looking to find something similar to my Canon SX100 (10x zoom) but with 1080 video capability that I can get some good stills with while out mountain biking/hiking, but can also set it up as a remote for getting additional video for making videos of the activity.
Any suggestions? |

->> Hmmm... I didn't think this was too far out there. Oh, well. Started the research the hard way: wading through the multitude of "kits" on Adorama's site. I think there were 11 pages of Canon P&S cameras but probably only about 6 different models. They sure love to push those kits and make it extremely difficult to find the actual cameras...
Canon SX130

An upgrade from my SX100. It doesn't do full 1080 but it does 720 and that's what I run my GoPro at in order to get the 60 fps. At $199 this is a decent option.
Canon SX210

A different look at $249 but moderately similar specs as the SX130. Little longer zoom

Not even out yet. At $349 is more expensive but this is the only one I found in my quick search that shoots 1080 video. And the zoom just keeps getting longer.
And, all three of these allow you to use the zoom while videoing. You can't with my SX100.
Now if only Canon (or anyone) would make an actual "wide angle" P&S with a big zoom... that'd be nice. The 230 is 28-392mm. Wouldn't that be nice if it were actually 16-224mm?
This is a start... |

->> I posted once, but for some reason it didn't set.
The Panasonic zs10 is coming out, and I think it has better quality than the Canon or the Nikons.
25-300 zoom, Leica designed lens (glass, not plastic resin)
full HD, and 60fps still capability, 10 frames at 14 MP.
GPS
I have the zs7 and my wife loves it because it responds fast enough to catch my 17 month old when she blinks, which is about as often as my wife is taking pictures of her...my poor hard drives...
I love it. The zs 10 will probably come in at about $400. |

| ->> I can second what Scott said. My wife uses a Panasonic ZS5, which is basically the ZS7 without GPS and a slightly smaller LCD screen. There is also a ZS5 which has the same 3" screen as the ZS7, but no GPS. |
