->> Has anyone entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame contest lately? I am not able to find out what size they want the photos to be (other than at least 1MB). Also, are you supposed to type your name and other info into the IPTC caption? I have not entered this contest since the days of prints (yes, it's true!)....this process seems a little odd. Am I missing something here?
Thanks! |

| ->> Karen last year I entered the contest 300 dpi 10 inches long, Name and caption in the iptc. I assume it is the same. Having trouble finding information on the contest this year. Good Luck. |

->> Photographers Who Are Eligible
All professional photographers who make photographs for general circulation newspapers and magazines, who make still photographs for television use, or who are assigned to game coverage by a professional football team are eligible to compete. Publication is not necessary for entry.
Does this mean that AP, Reuters, EPA and other such services photographers are NOT eligible? |

| ->> I don't see why they wouldn't be eligible. They are making photos for "general circulation newspapers", they just aren't getting paid by the newspaper, they get paid by the wire company. |

->> @Rick asked: "Does this mean that AP, Reuters, EPA and other such services photographers are NOT eligible?"
The reference states "All professional photographers who...are assigned to game coverage by a professional football team"
Aren't all wire service photographers technically assigned coverage by the teams? |

Actual assignments come for editor/organization and credential is granted by team. |

| ->> Well, yes, Rick, I understand the semantics, but depending on what the meaning of "is" is, or in this case, what the meaning of "assigned" is, I can't imagine a wire service photographer wouldn't be eligible for this competition. If the only photographers eligible for this competition are those directly "assigned" to the game by the teams, that's going to be a pretty small group, won't it? What am I missing? |

| ->> Wire services are indeed eligible. Pretty much everyone who has a credential to a game is eligible. I've been a judge a few times, and I never remember an eligibility question arising. There was an issue once where a photo was disqualified, since it was not made on gameday, but during the week (it was a locker room shot from practice.) |
