->> I have a D300 that is according to Nikon "economically unrepairable". I have no wish to pay to have it fixed for more than its worth so decided to sell it for parts. However, I am unsure of a price to sell it at, so wondering if anyone has a source they could recommend to determine a cost?
thanks much

| ->> Just throw it on eBay, describe the problem, and see how high it goes. You'd likely be surprised what people will pay for broken gear on eBay. |

->> Tami,
I got almost $600 for a dead Nikon F100 on eBay! It was in excellent condition, except the computer just stopped working.
Put it up as "Nikon F100 - Dead" |

| ->> It is surprising what it'll go for on Ebay. A friend gave me a broken circa. late 1980's Olympus AF film camera, I was going to throw it out, instead, sold it on Ebay for about $57, parts were very to come by for it, note, I sold it around 2000, before film was completely dead. |

| ->> There are a couple of folks on Fred Miranda that have a running thread looking to buy broken gear. |

| ->> There were a few comments elsewhere about an unrepairable Canon 5DMII. Suggestions ranged from using the camera as a prop -- like tossing it off a roof or hitting it with a sledgehammer -- before unsuspecting onlookers. |

->> I was debating on ebay but maybe will give it a shot. As to what Nikon said besides the top cover needing replacement there were some circuits damaged. Interesting enough it does turn on though and they reattached the top cover. It was sent in due to impact damage after being knocked off a wall.
Thanks mark will check out miranda's site. |
