Manfrotto Casters for Light Stands. How to install 'em?

->> I just bought this set of Manfrotto Casters for my Light Stands

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/315316-REG/Manfrotto_018_Casters_for_...

but I can't figure out how to install them on the stand so that the stand will actually roll. The instructions are useless and Manfrotto/Bogen tech support is out until Monday morning; dos anyone have experience with these?

Since there is only one little screw to turn...there must be some little "trick" to putting them on correctly but I can't figure it out.

Thanks in advance!

Delane

->> They look like the casters I had on an old stand somewhere around here - just loosen the screw, the "wedge" will move enough to insert the leg tube, insert, tighten and repeat. It's pretty much the same system they used on monopod sections years ago

->> Delane I have a similar set for a boom/stand kit. The casters have a small metal plate that the screw tightens against. That silver plate should have a small nub on it. Look at the legs on your stands. They should have a small hole that mates with the nub on the plate.

I can take a few photos of mine and how the plate nub and leg mate and the caster slips over plate+leg pair. Just say the word.

->> my tripod is the Bogen 3021BPRO...and there are no holes on the leg to match up to. Weird.

I see the nub on that plate but nothing on my legs....

Eric...maybe a picture would help...I'm not sure. Without those notches there's an infinite # of positions right?

->> Hey Delane, are you putting these on a tripod or a light stand? I doubt they will work on a tripod since they are designed for a light stand. If you are using them on a light stand, then most all of them should have the holes, even non-Bogen stands. FWIW, I had similar issues with my casters because I had inserted the silver plate the wrong way. Once I figured out that the nub matched the indexing hole on the leg, I was in much better shape!

->> If the bottom segment of the tripod legs are small enough to fit, you might need to pull the feet off.
