->> Time Magazine's tech blog Techland has in interesting post entitled "New Year's Resolution: A Savvier Facebook Profile":
http://techland.time.com/2011/01/03/new-years-resolution-a-savvier-facebook.../
If you dig around in the links in that blog, you'll find a link on the "Profile Picture" section to the blog posting "Don't be Ugly by Accident", which is chock full o' good data that analyzes perceived attractiveness of people based on the class of camera used to take the photo (DSLR, point & shoot, or cellphone):
http://blog.okcupid.com/index.php/dont-be-ugly-by-accident/
There are some fun (albeit racy) conclusions on the page, but the conclusions are supported by EXIF data and semi-scientific polling. The results aren't too surprising: Photos taken with DSLRs make people look more attractive than photos taken with cell phones.
The user comments are a fun read too. |
