Onyx clean up

->> Many moons ago I started using Onyx after a recommendation from an SS member. When I transferred everything over to my i5 MacBook Pro I forgot to re-set the schedules for Onyx and pretty much forgot how good it is an an application.

A couple of weeks ago I started to have speed problems with Photo Mechanic and it was baffling almost everyone. I have just run Onyx as a new year clean up and Photo Mechanic is back... at its best. Happy New Year indeed!

->> Onyx is a system maintenance tool that will help clean up caches etc. that can slow the system down. Another good one is Cocktail.

OSX will run many system maintenance scripts by itself overnight or when the computer is restarted and the scripts have not run for a set period of time.

It does not hurt, though, to run Onyx or Cocktail every now and then to make sure unneeded files that can cause some slowness are cleared out.

->> Sorry, http://mac.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/OnyX.shtml

I am having a real clean out of my Macs and external drives. I have so far liberated almost 1Tb of data - such fun... (that's good old British irony by the way).
