Kind of makes me feel lazy when all I have to do is show up 2-3 hours before game time to get a simple remote set up and then sit down to answer emails/surf the web/eat cold pizza until I have to start shooting. If any still shooters haven't seen it, it's worth a look to see what the broadcast side has to do for a game.

->> A friend of mine used to do that tv production stuff. Those guys make very good money, as Jeff posted above. Flights, hotel, car, etc. all are all paid for, good overtime. Somebody could work one football game per weekend from September-January and make more than most staff photogs do. Add in two games in a weekend, baseball, basketball and hockey, and they pull in six figures.

Don't fell lazy Sam, video guys don't worry about exposure, and sharp focus isn't as crucial. Most of the in-game work happens in the production truck.

My friend got out of that business because he got tired of the lifestyle. Very long days, erratic travel schedule wore on family demands, and there is a lot of physical labor when moving gear around.
