->> Thanks. The piece is pretty simple. Not a cool thing like my buddy Myung does for the LA Times.
But it shows how much fun you can have with a simple little camera like the GoPro. It's a cheap way to get a second camera shot. |

->> The GoPro is awesome. Those skates are too, but I know better than to try them.
Thanks for sharing. I saw someone in NYC on those skates last week and didn't know what it was (actually, he was using only one) |

->> Darn - near broke an ankle trying them out at the Freeline offices before we went to the skateboard park.
It is amazing the things the elite skaters can do on these things --- heck it is amazing to see what kids can do on them after just 15 minutes! |

I can't wait to see what journalists like Bert and Myung do with this type of technology. |

->> Another GoPro video that shows the athlete's POV. Makes me glad I don't have to follow him or get into a position to capture the action!

->> I love my GoPro's as well. I have two of them and use for video features and stories in Detroit. Just got another one from Santa Claus for Christmas :-)
They can be a great mix in video storytelling with Canon 5D video or "traditional" video cameras.
I'm suppose to get their 3D kit to test out next week and hope it's a good as they say. Not sure how it would work for certain video stories on the web but worth trying it out for sure.
Here is a link of the 3D system;

They are also coming out with a LCD screen later in January that fits on the back of the GoPro.

->> GoPro has allowed us to put cameras in places we never would have thought possible before. One of my co-workers at The Day used one to get underwater footage of the Navy's submarine escape trainer:
