->> Anyone have a chance to use the Cine DSLR by Sachtler?
I can't seem to find it in stock online anywhere, or find any reviews in forums, etc.
I'm looking at this package from B&H: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/742560-REG/Sachtler_0353_CINE_DSLR_2D...
but am worried that the sticks are junk, as the head by itself is selling for $1000 in other places.
Thoughts? |

| ->> I used a VERY similar Sachtler tripod (probably the same thing but released before the whole DSLR craze) with a Sony HVR-Z1 for a three month shoot in Europe in 2007 and it performed like a champ. |

->> I've used a Sachtler tripod (albeit a larger model) for the past five years and it's served us very well. I wouldn't worry about the quality of any part of that rig. Just make sure the head can indeed support the weight of your camera and any current / future accessories you plan on mounting to it.
Nothing pains me more to see people shooting video with cameras mounted to photo tripod heads that have no dampening whatsoever, so you're off to a great start looking into a good fluid head combo. |
