| ->> Might be worth posting here incase others try to find the answer later, i noticed the same thing looking at one in a store recently (Eyecup was either removed by store staff or stolen earlier) and wondered what it was too. |

->> I discovered a weird quirk with the 7D. If you turn the noise reduction on the strong setting, the buffer performance will suffer greatly, even on the lowest jpeg setting. This is something Canon tech support was not even aware of.
On this setting, I was only able to get about four frames off in continuous mode. |

| ->> Yes, the bars basically show you that the buffer is getting pretty darn full. I get that sometimes when shooting video and the card can't keep up with what's being written to it. |
