I LOVE the part about "...if minimum number of shots are not sold, NO compensation will be given." Where do I sign... |

| ->> I've seen those guys at all of the Tennessee games this year. They walk around the stands and outside of the stadium. I have no idea who is running it or any other details. It's people who just want to be at the game and most of the time I would see them they were just standing and watching the game. |

->> They should have no problem filling their spots now that it's posted on major photography website visited by countless students and amateurs. At least try to spell out how awful this is. Here's my attempt.
300 "sellable" images: Yeah, right. Let's say you're there for four hours, approaching a person or group of people every minute that you're there, which is impossible. No one is going to be interested, and you're going to be more annoying than a pushy beggar. Even if you did that, you’d still be 60 images short. So count on that big $35 payday. But for the sake of argument, we’ll say you really sprayed some people and hit your goal of 300. Four hours shooting, plus at least a half hour drive back and forth (assuming no traffic on GAME DAY). We’ll call it five hours. I won’t even mention food. Call it a photographer’s diet.
Congratulations, you just scored $12/hour under the most unrealistic scenario. Less than 300 images and you’re making less than minimum wage. |

->> I actually had my picture taken by one of these photographers at the Super Bowl in Tampa, in 09. My Dad, son and I were enjoying some adult beverages before the game and a woman came up to us, gave us a card and snap.
We went on the website a few days later and the picture was OK but we didn't buy it. It was bordered in TIRES and across the bottom had a giant tire in the middle with the Super Bowl logo and the sponsor's name. The tire covered most of my Dad in the middle...
I don't remember the price but I think it was $25 for a print and $15 for a small downloadable image. |

| ->> This looks like one of those "lottery" scams from overseas....don't think the website was put together by a person that uses english as their primary language... not that I speak or write that well but matthew is right, there are an enormous amount of mistakes. |

It's "number" of mistakes, Chuck. Not "amount." |

so that's what I've been doing wrong... |

->> I have a question. It says:
"Prime candidates will possess the following…
...
* A person with a desire to succeed
..."
Do they mean possess like in "The Exorcist" or would a slave/ indentured servant do?
Gotta love all the other grammar disasters, too, like "You will be provide you with outerwear". |

Not tears of laughter either unfortunately.
You know, back in the day after reading something like that we could all just go to the dark room and hang our heads over a bath of potassium ferricyanide for a while. Digital photography has even taken that luxury away from us. |

Not in the AP Stylebook, it isn't. You must have gone (not went) to WVU!

->> A similar, or maybe even the same, company does this at the University of Florida football games.
They are given the same workspace as the working press, which makes us really happy that people hired off the street will be around our gear when we're out shooting the game.
I've overheard them going over the camera settings:
ISO 200, f8, 1/200, flash on auto
This seems to be the same if it's a day or night game.
I was photographed by someone with the same company while at a Mets game a couple of years ago. They gave me a card with a code to enter to see the image. I expected it to be expensive, but I was curious to see how it looked. Totally back-focused, blown out background.
It's amazing to me that people pay for these photos, especially considering the quality of photo you can get out of a camera phone now. |
