->> Debra:
I bought that exact camera for my wife. It was off Amazon, but it was a Canon refurb. Had all their stuff with it along with a year warranty on the refurb.
So far no problems. And might I add, that is a HELL of a point and shoot. I didn't even know they had one with as fast an aperture as that (f/2.0).
I long ago corrupter her with my crazy idea that flash is caca and ambient is usually king (I know, crazy, right?), so it's the perfect camera for both of us.
Decent video, too.
Cheers,

| ->> I've bought a couple of refurbished lenses from Canon with no problems. It's why I felt safe about this deal. |

->> My backup D3 was a Nikon refurb picked up from Jeff Snyder. Everything except the color of the box was like new / mint. The camera has never had any issues or problems and most likely will have the shutter replaced in the next month or two.
Mind you that the camera is a year and and half old. That's 1.5 Eric years which is the equivalent of 6 'sane' shooting years. |

->> Ditto Eric. I have a D3s that's fine - great - terrific. I buy a lot of Apple refurbs and they are fine - as long as you buy them from Apple. (The one time I bought a Apple refurb from a third party I did have issues. )
Just use a little bit of caution.

| ->> Another good deal now is a refurbished G11 for around $250 through the Canon loyalty program...if you happen to have a broken powershot laying around. |
