| ->> Anyone use the Blackrapid system with a 70-200f2.8 without attaching it to the tripod collar of the 70-200f2.8? |

| ->> Steven, I haven't tried mine without the collar but the video on their website doesn't suggest it because it doesn't balance very well attaching to the camera body. |

| ->> I took the tripod collar off of my 70-200, so I routinely attach my BR strap to the camera bottom. Other than a funky balance, it's never been an issue. |

->> Steven,
I generally never attach it to the collar. Always to the camera body, that's where it feels most comfortable to me with the 70-200. And I personally have never had it work loose up and down the side lines. |

That being said, the collar does get misaligned from the lens body. At times it's a great struggle to realign during game time.
Maybe I will attach to camera body from now on.
I will say this: I have the short ends of the camera straps looped through the straps of the RS only as protection. It has saved me on occasion because I have had the RS screw mount come loose from the camera.
Only my thoughts... |

| ->> I use mine on a NIKON 70-200mm all the time without the collar. I just screw it in to the hole on the lens and it hangs just right. |

| ->> I second Dannie Walls. Works just fine. Sometimes I loosen the collar so I can grab the camera with the grip and it doesn't get caught up in the strap (as much) |

->> Dannie and Ethan,
There is no 'hole' in the Canon 70-200f2.8, the only socket is on the tripod collar.
While I have some Nikon gear, and I love my Nikon gear, when I go to work I tend to leave my Nikon FA and F3 at home for the Canon digital kit.
My Nikkor 180f2.8 Ai is pretty awesome though! :0) |
