I just found it, thought it was pretty hilarious even with its "near truth" quality. If you can't laugh about it what good is life? |

On a less funny note, whenever someone asks "what did you shoot that with?" my default answer is "Time." |

Chuck moved past the Nikon FA's P ... he's entered the modern age of PH with the F4s. Rumour has it he's considered the N90s as his next body. |

->> Sam, it is not working with TTL at the moment, but I think PocketWizard is working on an adapter.
And the SC-17 cord only works if you have the old F3 hot shoe adapter. (you have to take the flash off to open the back? who had that bright idea?) |

Funny,
I have a Nikon F3hp, with AS-4 on the shelf in my office, loaded with Fuji 400 at the moment. Right beside it ... an SB-24 attached to an SC-17 :0)
Holy Crap ... I'm old ... well not Chuck old ... I'll never be that old ... |

Let's play a game ... let's see how many current active SS members can tell you who John Filo is without using Google :0) |

->> I have my FE2 that I started my professional career with. I got it back from my Dad a few years ago as he was still using them. Not sure where the MD-12 that I hotwired with two extra batteries for one extra FPS is.
When I got a staff job and they gave me all digital cameras many years ago I sold all my film bodies but the F5 and a rangefinder -- which I recently sold, still have the F5.
I still kick myself for selling the F3, the first "professional" camera I bought in high school or maybe freshman year of college. F3 and motor drive cost me $933 (yes I still remember the amount more than 25 years later). My hand was shaking when I wrote the check. It was the largest check I had written to that point and I had only $1,100 in my checking account. |

->> Funny, I still remember when I got my first F3HP too!!
I sold one of my "Collectible" (In those days) F's with an F36 Drive to Dells Camera for $300 (more than what I paid for it) and purchased the F3HP for a whopping $419... Because I was a BA-3 student at Brooks and I was short in cash, Del let me pay the difference and sales taxes over time. I ended up working for Del in trade for Gear!! I never got a pay check from him, but I had a Buttload of Nikon gear when I graduated!!

And I have two Nikon F2 Photomics in my office, one with the 20 lb. with motor drive, that I used back in the day. There's nothing wrong with being ancient, and Chuck will back me up on this. ;) |

->> How did a post about a silly commercial get turned into a "who's the oldest photographer and knows John Filo" thread? LOL But I'll play anyway....
I have an MD12 motordrive if you want one George, bodies were stolen years ago but I still have the MD, silly, and Eddie Adams introduced me to John Filo in the mid '80's in NYC. |

->> Chuck, you are not ancient, even though you assisted Matthew Brady. I believe that is you playing dead in many of his images, correct?
And, yeah, sorry this got co-opted into another thread. But when you ask Chuck how he gets all those great basketball shots he kind of looks shifty and just mutters something you can't understand. So I think he is using the camera in the ad and just tapes a Canon logo on it and hopes his boss doesn't find out. |
