->> caught part of an interesting 30 minute show about photographer Tony Gleaton on PBS. A photographer in the southwest, he talks about his images of native americans, african americans, his posed portraiture/documentary style. He takes dedication to a unique level. Using a bike with a trailer, he takes his medium format and view camera gear around the southwest shooting landscapes and portraits.
Another one of those interesting episodes that I just barely caught because I came home from work and started channel surfing, happening to stop on it. If I had a dollar for every time that happened, I'd have at least enough to for a drink or two.
Doesn't look like its on in Indiana again, but not sure about the rest of the country. Get a chance, check it out.

->> Another PBS thing to watch for...
looking ahead to what tv there is to watch this weekend over the holidays (since I don't have cable it can be tough) I see that on Friday on Indiana PBS at least, there's a program about Roy Stryker and the FSA, later on in the evening, 50 years of presidential photography, think Pete Souza is going to be prominently featured.
Geek out on photography tv this weekend. :) |
