Kodak DCS Acquire Modules

->> For those of you old enough to remember this firmware put out by Kodak, you will understand this. Don't worry if you don't know it.

My question is, I have images from both a Canon/Kodak DCS-3 and a Kodak/Canon DCS-520/D2000 cameras from 2001-03. I want to view these images and make them into jpgs. I spoke with Kodak and while they still have these acquire modules, they did not make them for Mac OS X systems. Does anyone know of a way to "acquire" these images via the Mac OS X operating system? Did anyone else make software to acquire these images. What does SI, USA Today do when they have this issue? Robert Hanashiro, can you weigh in here?

Please no cute/smart comments about the older digital cameras. We all know how heavy, big, clunky and poor quality they were. So just keep the comments to the subject matter please. Thanks you.

I'm not sure what version of PS they stopped with the plug-in and if you could still run it under OS9 emulation or not.

You may want to drop their tech guys a note to see if the plug-ins could still run under some form of software/hardware combo you currently have.

->> Adobe DNG Converter will handle these files and convert to DNG, which you can then easily open in Photoshop.

->> Guys,
Thanks for the info there. I think one of these solutions should work.

->> Andy,
It took some time and some doing, but it finally worked. the Photoshop plug-in was the ticket. I had to download the correct version, (which of course was not specified)and several trial and errors. But we got it. Thanks

Willis

go here:

http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/eos_slr_camera_systems/eos_d...

Set the "Choose Operating System" pop up window to "Mac OS X"

When the page reloads, scroll down to "CR2 Converter for Mac OS X (exclusively for EOS D2000)".

According to the Canon website, this module converts the raw camera images into CR2 images which can be edited in Canon's Digital Photo Professional which comes with new Canon cameras.

This should help you with the DCS520/D2000 images. Don't know/haven't used it with anything shot on a DCS3.
