Another Zenfolio question...

->> this is making me NUTS and I can't figure it out:
when I have a hidden gallery (password protected), it is making me put the password for each individual image as opposed to opening the entire gallery. Does anyone know why?
I have done the following-highlighted the gallery name on the left and then went to the right where it says "edit" to assign a password, as well as selecting all the images and then going to the right side and editing it that way (for a password protected gallery). Then each time I log out of Zenfolio and try to open the entire gallery at once, it is telling me to put in the password for each individual gallery.
Does anyone have any clue what is going on? |

Debra, if you have any other questions concerning zen. shoot them over to me. Ive been using them for a few years now and have, at least I think so, some kind of knowledge through trial and error.
Hope that helps. |

| ->> I meant to add that by doing that, the gallery stays protected, but the images stay public so you can share with others on forums and such, but no one can enter the gallery without a password. |

->> David,
when I select public, they are not password protected. I don't want anyone but the client who has the password to be able to see the images, and in the past once I assigned a password and put it in once (at the beginning) every photo opened. Now, it it making me ad the password for every image I want to open.
Hope this is making sense. |

| ->> I don't have a specific solution for you, but I can say that the Zenfolio user forums have been very helpful. I don't think I've ever waited longer than a day for an answer to a question. There is a forum called "Problems Reports" or something like that--that's where I'd start. |

->> Debra:
What David suggested above should work. I'll just try saying it slightly differently.
Highlight the gallery to be password protectd in the Organizer column on the left. Under "Access Control" at the right of the screen set the password protection for the gallery. Upon doing this, all the thumbnails of images in the gallery should show a little lock icon on them.
Next, select all of the photos within the locked gallery ("Select All" on the lower right of the page). Go to Access Control again and with all the images in the gallery highlighted/selected, change the access setting to "Public-open to all" and save.
The gallery remains password protected but the images within the gallery are open to everyone who has access to the gallery. The lock icon on the image thumbnails should be gone. |

->> Debra,
Alan said exactly what I said, just maybe a bit clearer (Thanks Alan).
Lets see if that works for you. |

->> There is another option, under the Access Control for each image, at the very top of the page place a check in the "Same as Containing Gallery (Locked with password)" field. You can select all the images in the gallery and set this. I believe this will provide the security you are looking for.
Hope this helps. |
