->> had to buy a Virgin Mobile Hotspot (149.00 regular price)
Went to BestBuy and they had the price jacked up to 199.00.... checked with Wallmart and it was 'rolled back'
to 139.00
..So just beware of 'Best' Buy |

| ->> Did Wal Mart actually have one in stock, or was it on their website? The devices are out of stock on the Virgin Mobile website. |

->> Best Buy will price match competitors prices.
Take your receipt down to best buy along with the Walmart Ad and they will refund you the difference. At least that is what they have done for me here in California. The policy or laws may vary in Florida. |

->> Best Buy has always taken care of me in the past, and as Louis said, they price match. I had a $300 printer that was purchased 8 months prior that quit working. Oh, and I had no receipt. They looked up my purchase on their computer (matched to my credit card) and refunded the full amount via store credit - they honor the manufactures' warranty without making you go through the manufacturer. The whole thing took 15 minutes.
I tried the same thing at Costco with a TV that quit working after 90 days with receipt - Huge hassle. As far as big box stores are concerned, Best Buy has always been good to me. |

| ->> I have to agree on "Best Buy"... The "best buy" it's not!!! Example; 1tb Western Digital Caviar Green internal HD ON SALE in the store at $99.00 (shown regular price as $119) as of last week. Their website shows it at $79.00 and B&H has it at $64.95. However, they are good on exchanges, as Mike says, but their prices are not "best". They do, however, have some incredible deals on Black Friday if you can hang with the hordes. |

| ->> Phil, totally agree. They dont always offer the best prices upfront - you have to ask. Funny how often I have to actually ask them to price match their own online prices.. Complete idiocy. |

->> Yes, and they were once sued by the State of Connecticut because people would say "but on the web site the price is $xx" and employees would go to terminals in the store that looked like their web site but was actually an internal-only system that displayed higher prices and would say "see, the web site says $xx, that's the price."
I've had a couple not-so-fun experiences with them so I avoid if I can.
I recently had a friend ask me about a camera they saw on sale at Best Buy. I steered her to Jody at Roberts who not only had a similar kit but had it $100 cheaper than Best Buy. And I would say Jody's customer service and knowledge of product is far superior to that offered at any blue building with yellow price tag. |

->> A couple of years ago I needed a 2tb SATA HD in a pinch. Only store that was open at 8pm with the drive in stock was my local BestBuy. Went in bought the drive and ran home with it.... Opened the box and found a refurb 500mb IDE drive. I braced myself for the fight.
Ran back to the store and the manager looked at me like I was calling him a fool. We opened THREE more factory sealed boxes. Each had a refurb WD HD in them of different sizes. The manager then told me he had seen it happen before. The refurbs were in sealed anti-static bags... Only giveaway was taht when you opened the box the SATA cable was missing... That was the tip off that it wasn't a SATA drive in the box. |

| ->> What I do to avoid problems with swapped out (stolen) items is to open them in front of the security guy at the exit and make sure the item is in fact the correct one. |
