New website to support Joao Silva injured NYTimes photograph

->> Dear friends and colleagues,

As you have probably heard NYTimes contract photographer Joao Silva stepped on a mine while on assignment in Afghanistan a few days ago. Both his legs have been amputated below the knees. He is now recovering at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Friends have set up a new website (with the tremendous generosity of PhotoShelter) to sell his prints and raise funds for him: joaosilva.photoshelter.com

Please consider helping him by buying a print (great Holiday gift!) or making a donation. He is one of the major conflict photojournalists of our time. If you listen to those who know him, he is also one of the nicest photographers around.

And make sure you update your blog post or article, forward this email, make some noise with a tweet, a Like, a share or a post. Or just leave a message for Joao. Any help is hugely appreciated.

Best,

Regards,

David
