| ->> I'm thinking of upgrading my system from 10.5 to 10.6 Has anyone experienced any difficulty using Photoshop, Lightroom, Photo Mechanic or other similar software with the new OS? Also, any issues with scanners or printer drivers under 10.6? |

->> I upgraded an iMac and Macbook Pro shortly after release using Epson printers and scanners and have had no issues ... though other early adopters did have a brief issue with printer drivers ...
As long as you make sure you have the most current scanner and printer drivers for 10.6 ... and any OS updates ... you should be fine ... most printer/scanner firms have caught up with 10.6 ... PSCS3/4/5 and LR2/3 work fine on 10.6 ... |

->> I had a problem with some fonts after upgrading to 10.6
They were fonts being used by an older version of Microsoft Office. The upgrade to 10.6 ended up installing some new fonts and not deleting the old ones thus setting up several conflicts. I had to go in and manually delete the old fonts.
Haven't had any problems with Photo Mechanic, Photoshop, or anything else. |

| ->> I just updated my main machine last week. No problems with CS4 or Photo Mechanic. The only small issue I had was with my old LPR print server, had to reconfigure and change some options but otherwise everything went smoothly. |

| ->> Upgraded a couple months ago. Seems faster. Photoshop and PM work fine. Had a lot more application crashes and random weird stuff happen though. Now occasionally I need to log out and back in to connect to my wireless network. It's an apple base station too, so no idea what's up. I'm looking forward to the next update. I hope they iron out some of these bugs. 10.5 was so solid that these minor things just irritate me sometimes. |

->> just upgraded my iMac last week from Tiger straight to Snow Leopard. all you need is the $29 Snow Leopard upgrade disc. was skeptical myself, but went to a local authorized Mac dealer and repair center in my area and they verified it. i was advised to "repair permissions" on my hard drive in the disc utility before installing the upgrade, which i did. everything has been running fine and i've had no software issues.

| ->> I don't have any issues with Snow Leopard on stationary Mac pro, but on MBP, I had enough issues to switch back to Leopard. All programs were working fine, so no complains there, but I had constant battery problems. There were known battery issues with first versions of Snow Leopard, and things should be fixed by now, but for me no patches, not even new re-install, didn't help. So I just switched back to Leopard on MBP and now, things are back to normal again. |

| ->> Avoid using Spaces in 10.6. There's a bug that locks you out of your keyboard and requires you restart the finder/dock. |

| ->> Apple just updated to 10.6.5, which might fix some of the issues mentioned in previous post Here's the link to the list of fixes (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4250). I've used Snow Leopard since it came out, first on my 2008 MBP and on a newer MBP. No problems on the new machine and the only problems that I had on my old machine were the some drivers namely, the HP drivers and the Eye-One Match software had didn't work, but fixes for those were issued pretty quickly. I hope this helps |

| ->> I've been using Spaces on both machines (24" iMac and 15" MBP) since the release of Snow Leopard ... no issues whatsoever ... with either a USB keyboard or the new Bluetooth keyboard and Magic Mouse ... |
