So we wouldn't have to buy a whole new set of lenses. |

| ->> They don't even show a photo of an actual product. It's vaporware until they actually show a tangible product. It could easily die in R&D before it goes into production. They don't care about your budget, selling you new widgets is their business. |

->> I'm surprised they don't make/offer a system like their XL1/2 in HD that could take the EF lens adapter. They already have the technology. Or am I missing something?

->> It's my understanding that camera has an adapter to use 35mm lenses, tho I've not seen anything that specifies which brands or necessary specs for the camera. Tho, I don't think we should be rushing to all ask for this idea. The camera's not out til next month I think. See how it performs under real world conditions first. I think it's an interesting "concept" for sure, and here comes the but... the variety and speed with which all these cameras/video/hybrids are announced reminds me a bit what currently is going on with tv's. I got a new 32" LCD last year at Xmas, it was outdated 3 months later. Between 3d, tv's with google or hulu, oled screens. All these options available but people know that other options are going to be available a few months later.
We might be the people making the purchases, and with the case with cameras it can be much more important because jobs and making a living might ride on it, but it's not about us. It's about manufacturers topping each other. Sony had a similar camera to the Panny they showed off awhile back, don't think it came out yet. When it does will it be old tech because they are on to the next thing already?
Granted we've always been guinea pigs for camera makers to test new things and develop them as they went. But it just seems to me that they aren't as concerned with making a half assed piece of gear as they are with getting it out the door to make some $. |

->> On the video forums there is test footage from the camera - I don't think it is vaporware.
Also, from my understanding, with an adapter, you will be able to use Nikon and Canon lenses. |

->> Not vapor ware and not $10K. More like $5K at B&H. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&N=0&A=endecaSearch&Initi...+AG-AF100
Philip Bloom has been using one and he's pretty impressed with it. http://www.43rumors.com/new-panasonic-ag-af100-video-samples-by-philip-bloo.../
The whole Micro 4/3 thing has a lot of potential. I don't think it will replace 1D or 5D series cameras, but they could replace digital Rebel or G11 type cameras. I just got a Panasonic GF1 and it's very nice. Reminds me a lot of my dearly departed Contax G2. The 20mm f1.7 (40mm equivalent on 35mm full frame) is a terrific lens. They accept most older lenses through the use of adapters, but obviously in manual focus only.

It looks like it will use the Micro 4/3rds lenses from Panasonic and Olympus as native. |
