->> Oh dear. I can only imagine where this thread is going to go.
P.S: The price is $950. They're just tacking on $300 during some of the bigger games. |

Good catch. I thought $300 sounded low but was not putting a lot of investment into the idea. |

->> I guess it wouldn't bother me, as long as they're cool and don't bother me or my colleagues working the game. I wouldn't see them as a threat or hinderance.
Heck, seeing a photographer down there with an ear to ear grin might be a nice departure from some of the grumpy faces I see on photo-row during Pacers games. |

->> For that price you can buy your own strobes and light up your local gym just like an NBA arena.
What's next, "Brain Surgeon" for a day? After shadowing the "Official Surgeon", you will get to slice open some poor slob's mellon. Look Mom, I got a surgical gown and a sharp knife! |

| ->> This is deja vu of last years discussion on this, it is on this message board already (not just sidelines but basketball to)...the only change seems to be I thought last year it was pre-game only and now it seems to be the entire game you get to shoot. It's a class, seems the person keeps the rights, not a pay to be the photographer for a day and the Nets get everything. If you haven't noticed everything is for sale now, and I mean everything...good, no...but happening. Who's a bigger threat, this guy paying for the experience or someone just giving photos away to get a credential and in for free? |

->> Wasn't there a huge uproar on this board last year, when the prize for a photo contest was to be the photographer for the day at a college football game ? Now its all okay as long as one is paying for the same thing?
Where did all those members screaming bloody murder last year go now? |

->> I concur, Louis. This is a very similar situation...a non-working shooter being brought in under supervision of a professional (it's even worse because, as I understand it, the football contest was for a STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHER, not someone that just happens to have $1,000 handy).
I may not be in a position to really comment on this since I have never set foot on an NBA court, but isn't an NBA sideline even tighter and more congested than football?
I understand the team photographer would be babysitting them through the entire thing but jeez. Especially for Heat games which are going to be full of media.
I don't mean to be a negative nancy...but I really can see where professional NBA shooters are coming from if they have an issue with this. Although I'm sure most of the people who do this will be perfectly fine people that abide by the rules, all it takes is one clown to make everyone's day into a brief nightmare. |

->> "4) Get Exposed! . . . You will be able to feature your photos on the Nets Homepage under the "Unique Photo of the Week". If you choose to take advantage of this opportunity, your name and photograph will be highlighted for millions to see!"
I didn't know millions of people watched the Nets, let alone visit their website.
This promotion is probably being done so the Nets have money to pay their real photographer. Get 2 photographers and have them pay each other. You keep the images. |

->> Michael,
I think not only do you get a fan/aspiring GWC to pay for your real photographer and get to keep the photos but I am sure you have Unique Photo paying the nets as the sponsor of this opportunity as well. |
