->> I use them on all my cameras. They don't slip at all.
They do wear out (start to lose their grip) in about 18 months of hard use. By then the nylon is pretty frayed also. Worth every penny. |

| ->> Two of mine worn out - although the webbing is still good, all the nubs wore off. I sent UpStrap an email asking if it was normal that this happened and if this was under warranty. All I got back wa sa snotty message from the "inventor" saying that this could never happen and that these are perfect and I'm not. Really an annoying person. |

| ->> Sorry to hear of your experience Rob, I've know Al Stegmeyer for a long time and have always received excellent service from him. I don't know the circumstances of your straps, how old they were, etc. so I can't comment on that. I've used his straps for about 10 years and think they are well worth the money. While the structural soundness of the strap will probably outlast your camera, the shoulder pad is made of soft rubber and will eventually wear smooth (about two years has been my experience). |

->> I have these and found great service from the company. I had ordered three to be sent over to the UK - only one arrived in the packet (it hadn't been opened) . The response was great, two despatched straight away and even a small refund on the shipping/tax charges - can't ask for more.
They don't slip but I do find them rather long. I prefer to hang the camera higher and hard to shorten by much. Still nice straps. |

| ->> You know what - it's not the product, it's their attitude - two times I've had issues and both times they seemed offended by me questioning them about their warranty - I got the our product is flawless, it must be you. This time Stegmeyer basically said the should pads aren't really going to stand up to a photojournalist's use. I'm going back to Domke Gripper straps - even if they only last a year or so, their half the price. |

->> Rob,
I had a similar experience with them!!
And I only asked them about the Fastex clips he used.
He was really snotty with me and his rude reply was "Mil Spec"
Well, Fastex IS Mil-Spec!!
I know, I was a Staff Photographer for a Major US Military Vendor/Supplier/Manufacturer.
I decided not to buy from him just because of his rude responses. I have seen and examined his product, it us superb, he needs to learn how to deal with simple questions and how to deal with people, he doesn't!!
Too bad!!

->> I've got several of them and generally like them, but prefer other models now.
LT Strap - The laptop strap. This is my favorite and I use it, yes, on my laptop bag.
SLR-QR - This is the one that had quick-release buckles on the strap, so you can remove the strap easily. Great idea, I just wish it had ONE feature: one male and one female QR on the short ends attached to the camera. That way you could connect them together and have a "handle" or just get them out of the way. They flop around too much IMO. Also got the "loop" attachment that is supposed to make a hand strap but never use it. Would rather have the two short pieces connect together.
I also have an older, thinner strap (RF/DC) that I never really liked because the pad was too heavy in relation to the strap and it tended to get in the way and/or not "behave."
I did have a couple of email exchanges with Al back in 2006 and found him very pleasant.
I'm pretty sure his web site says the nubs will wear off just like tires wear.
Now I prefer the Domke Gripper. It actually has short ends that WILL connect together, it is properly balanced, and doesn't have nubs that wear off. I also have a ThinkTank strap which is nice but doesn't have the detachable strap section like the Domke Gripper. |

| ->> Funny thing years ago I had the same crap from Lightware, bad customer service but this was on a 400 dollar item. Very happy that we have companies like think tanktank cps, nps, and apple that actually care about there customers. Apple today replaced my apple laptop that had been two months past it's warranty when I first had trouble with it now 2 more months have gone by and I had more trouble and they are replacing it with a top of the line i7 mac book pro. Some companies are great and realize mistakes happen some do not. |

->> Mac replaced the Battery and Bottom Cover on my Macbook (Unibody) that was ONE YEAR past it's warranty.
Think Tank Photo has the best warranty in the business!! You have to buy their gear ONCE!!! It breaks, they either fix it or replace it!!
Some of these companies need to learn from Think Tank. If they did, they would do a whole lot better!!
I think I'll order a couple of the Think Tank Straps to test them.

| ->> I guess I didn't realize that Think Tank made a camera strap. I ended up buying Lowepro starps, since neighter Calumet or Helix had the Domkes in stock. I actully like the new straps. I have sworn off UpStrap, not because of the products, but because of their bad attitude to customers. |

I generally like the DIY Rstrap I put together, similar tothe one Jody Gomez came up with. This season I had some neck pain and quit using it for a while. I don't think it was the straps fault, but it did irritate it.
So, about a year or so ago I was also looking for a new camera bag strap after I had one break and my bag hit the floor. Fortunately I was bent over and it only fell about 6 inches and nothing was damaged. It took me about 2 weeks to find something I considered acceptable. they also had a strap that I got for my camera to try. I'm now using it.
If anyone is looking for something a little different, this one is pretty comfortable and incoporates a bungee to absorb shock and weight.
